Limited-Production of Countryman Special Edition Launched

The MINI Countryman has been quite successful for the brand over the past five years, but it is now due for an update. Therefore, the BMW-owned brand has just introduced a limited-production edition – the Countryman Special Edition.

The Special Edition is similar to the MINI Countryman Park Lane and Countryman Business Edition, but has extra styling tweaks and additional features. Elegance is found in the black paint with Metallic ‘Space Grey’ roof and mirror caps on the exterior of the Special Edition. The interior has Gravity- Carbon black leather seats, while the dash trim is in piano black.

Features include Bluetooth connectivity, voice control, sat-nav, heated front seats, climate control, and xenon headlights. Customers can choose between the Cooper S or Cooper SD engine, both available options in the Countryman Special Edition. The additional choice of manual or automatic gearboxes is also available.

There will only be 250 MINI Countryman Special Edition vehicles released, so be sure to stop by MINI of Pittsburgh today to place your order!

New MINI Superleggera Concept Unveiled

We are excited to be getting the MINI Supperleggera in a few years. Learn more about this concept car below.

The MINI Superleggera Concept has officially been announced and it will be heading our way in just a few short years. The open-top two-seater will be launched in 2019 and we’re extremely excited to welcome it to the family.

The new car, designed by MINI and Touring Superleggera, is said to have the front wheel drive UKL platform and will be equipped with three cylinder, four-cylinder, and diesel engine options. In addition, it’s speculated that there will be a plug-in version of the concept car.

Adrian van Hooydonk, Senior Vice President BMW Group Design, said, “Touring Superleggera and MINI have much in common: both companies attach great importance to their history and this is something which defines their outward appearance to this day. What is more, they both emphasize iconic design and distinctive solutions.”

Although we have to wait until 2019 to get our hands on it, we’re highly excited about the partnership between MINI and Superleggera. Stay tuned to our MINI of Pittsburgh blog and we’ll release more details about the upcoming concept car as they are revealed.

First Images of MINI Clubman Vision Gran Turismo Released

The first images have been released of the upcoming MINI Clubman Vision Gran Turismo virtual racecar. The Vision GT will be available to download in Gran Turismo 6, the popular racing game for PlayStation 3 that pits some of the sickest virtual cars imaginable—both real and imagined—against one another.

You can check out the sketches here to judge for yourself, but it’s safe to say that the MINI Clubman is one of the sleekest, most futuristic virtual cars yet.

This virtual car gets almost 400 horsepower, using all 4 wheels in an all-wheel drive system. And – the MINI Clubman can hit 60 mph from zero in just 3.5 seconds. Talk about a strong start right out of the gate.

Tragically, there are no plans for this virtual car to become a reality, but on the bright side, to use the vehicle in GT6, you won’t have to pay a price tag of hundreds-of-thousands-of-dollars. It’s available now as part of GT6’s most recent in-game update.
