Need Something to Do in Pittsburgh? Stop by Dancing in the Square

If you are looking for something fun to do in the Pittsburgh area, check out the Dancing in the Square event. Held every Friday in June at the Downtown Market Square, you can have fun with tons of dancing and music. Everyone should visit this fun city event.

According to Downtown Pittsburgh, there will also be a range of other entertaining activities at Dancing in the Square this June. There will be live performances from professional dance troupes, a DJ, and more. Plus, you can participate in the dancing, which ranges from ballroom to swing and polka.

How did this all begin? Thanks to a great response to the National Ballroom Week Celebration, the Pittsburgh Downtown Partnership decided to put on a massive event for the whole city. Often drawing hundreds of participants, you won’t believe how much fun Dancing in the Square can be.

This free event was created in conjunction with USA Dance and the Pittsburgh Downtown Partnership. Events this year will be on June 3, June 10, June 17, and June 24. The Dancing starts at 5pm in the Market Square, just a short, 20 minute drive from our dealership, so don’t be late!

Open Streets Pittsburgh

It’s not often Pittsburgh closes down a city street, but it’s happening not once, not twice, but three times this year! Open Streets Pittsburgh is all about healthy family fun with no cars allowed. Attendees can bike, skateboard, rollerblade, walk, and run through the street. Free group classes of salsa and yoga are also available.

Open Streets Pittsburgh is part of a much larger movement called Ciclovia. Ciclovia includes hundreds of cities from around the globe. During the events, everyone, businesses, neighbors, non-profits, and everyone in between, comes together to create what can be compared to the happiest city on Earth.

This year, Open Streets Pittsburgh takes place from Market Square to Penn Avenue. Covering the Strip and Lawrenceville’s business district, this is one massive event! Best of all, we here at MINI of Pittsburgh are located one block over on Baum Boulevard!

There will be plenty to do. Even if you aren’t into yoga or salsa, you can always exercise in your own way. Take advantage of the lack of motor vehicles and use the space around you. Travel in ways you never would have considered before. If you can do it without a car, you can do it at Open Streets Pittsburgh which takes place on the last Sunday in May, June, and July!

We can’t wait to see you there!
